Rule 101: Clean title
Only include the title of the song as the entry name (with exceptions on “Remix” and “Remaster” entries)
(Applies to all finished song entries)
Rule modified 2025-10-16
A primary name or an alias of a song entry should only contain the title of the song. This means you shouldn’t include the following, but not limited to, information on the name:
-
Artists
Add them as the artist of the song.- Vocalists (e.g. “feat. Hatsune Miku”)
- Producers (e.g. “DECO*27”, “椎名もた(siinamota)”, “Jamie Pagie”)
- Featured artist (e.g. “w/ OK Glass”)
- Original artists (for derivatives)
Do not add them as the artist of the derived song!
-
Song type (e.g. “Cover”, “Original Song”)
Use the “Type” field. -
Language (e.g. “Japanese”, “English”)
Use the “Language” field. -
Tools (e.g “VOCALOID”, “SynthV”, “UTAU”)
Add them as tags. -
Genres (e.g. “EDM”, “Pop”)
Add them as tags. -
Other information (e.g. “Official Audio”, “Voicebank Debut”)
Add them as tags whenever possible.
Exception exists for “Remix” and “Remaster” entries. See the “Keep remix titles” rule.
Note
In most derivatives, you only need to copy the primary name and aliases of the entry of the original song. When in doubt, take a look on how it is named on the original song entry.
