Artist verification

Who?

If you are an artist listed on the database, you may request your user account to be connected to your artist entry on VocaDB. This goes for producers, cover artists, illustrators, mixers - everyone with an artist entry is eligible.

The requirement is that you need to have at least one song entry on VocaDB. This can be any sort of song type (original, cover, PV, mashup, etc.) as long as it features vocal synths.

Why?

As a verified artist, your user account name is displayed on the artist entry page and vice versa. You also gain access to the following actions:

• Marking your artist entry as approved, preventing non-Trusted users from editing that entry.
• Removing tags associated with your entry
• Providing personal descriptions for your albums and songs.
• Uploading song files (such as .mp3s) directly to VocaDB

Edits by verified artists are, by default, considered trusted when editing their own entries. For example, as a verified artist you may mark the specific voicebank used without further explaining it - we trust that you know what you’re doing. This means less work for both you and the moderation team.

How can I get verified?

By submitting a verification request on VocaDB. You need to provide some way to prove that you are the artist, meaning that your VocaDB account (also known as “Profile”) is owned by the artist whose entry you are claiming. The most common way is to make a post on one of your public social media accounts with a link back to your user Profile.

Important notes:

• The link we require is to your user account (https://vocadb.net/Profile). This confirms that the artist and the user are one and the same.

• The official website you’re using for verification must be linked on your artist entry (https://vocadb.net/Ar), so we can confirm that said website belongs to that artist.

• Temporary profile / video descriptions work as well, such as adding a link to your VocaDB user profile in your YouTube bio, or in the description of one of your YouTube videos.

• You may instead send a direct message to a Moderator or Admin. Other contacting options can be found here.

• Your request will be rejected without proper proof! Screenshots are not accepted due to being easily fakeable.

Multiple artist entries (for example, circles or UTAU voicebanks) can be connected to the same user account (please mention this when submitting the verification request).

Note that abusing these privileges is strictly forbidden: you may not credit yourself for a song/album unless you really were involved.
