Song entries can be created from: https://vocadb.net/Song/Create
- Album tracklists (= multiple song entries) are easier to create from the album edit page instead.
Before creating the song entry, make sure that the entry belongs to the database:
Demo and work in progress (WIP) songs/albums should not be added, unless:
Teasers that are different from the actual songs that they promote are allowed (example).
Song entries for AI generated songs (AI generated music or AI generated uncontrolled vocal synthesis) are not allowed. Songs made with Suno for example.
Songs without voice-synth vocals (vocaloid/utau/cevio/etc.) should not be added, unless:
- The song is part of an album entry.
- The song has at least 5 voice-synth covers (these can be added as cover unifier entries).
Song entries where the main producer is listed under forbidden artists should not be added.
Song entries should include a PVs, external link, description or be part of an album entry.
Song entries should not be created based on unpublished YouTube premieres.
- Adding links that have not yet premiered to existing song entries is fine, as long as the song entry has some other playable link.
The song entry creation page requires:
All entries require a name.
If all the primary names are whitespace, add the Untitled tag.
Remix entries should keep the long title.
For example: Plug Out (HSP 2012 Remix)
- Remove clear non-title parts (e.g., original artist credit).
- Remove the vocalist’s name if it is separate from the rest of the title.
- Remove the song type if it is separate from the rest of the title.
The same applies for Remaster songs.
If the artist entry doesn’t exist, you will need to create the artist entry first.
If the song entry shouldn’t include any artist entries (cover unifier entry for example), the Temporary artist entry can be used to bypass the creation form.
After submitting the song entry, you can start adding more detailed information to it.
